Yondu Udonta, portrayed by Michael Rooker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a pivotal character in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
He is a Ravager, the leader of a clan of space pirates. He abducted a young Peter Quill (Star-Lord) from Earth after his mother's death and raised him as one of his own. Although seeming harsh and profit-driven, Yondu develops a complex, father-son relationship with Quill.
Yondu controls a Yaka Arrow, a weapon that responds to his whistling commands. He uses this arrow with lethal precision and skill. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Yondu sacrifices himself to save Peter Quill, proving his deep affection and solidifying his role as a surrogate father figure.
